The Burnaby Task Force On Homelessness was honored to participate in the Multicultural Festival on June 22, 2013.
The Multicultural Festival celebrated the diversity of people in our community in a multifaceted fun filled event enhanced by delicious food, tea, interactive activities, and a full compliment of mesmerizing song and dance throughout the day.
Celebrating multiculturalism is an excellent way for the Burnaby Task Force On Homelessness to integrate the message that homelessness impacts all of us, can happen to any of us, and knows no barrier regarding ethnicity, gender or age.
The display of the Burnaby Task Force On Homelessness included information about the vision and work of the Task Force, brochures in Mandarin/Cantonese, Korean, Spanish, English, and opportunities for citizens to endorse this work.
In addition the Burnaby Task Force On Homelessness distributed pins from the recent 10,000 Dreams Launch with Quits Etc. and served tea from around the world. Over 600 samples of tea were distributed from our quaint tea pots and kept warm by tea cozies especially made for this occasion.
Featured at the Multicultural Fair were:
Organic Lemon Myrtle- Australia
Orange Pekoe- Sri Lanka
Green Tea- China
Organic Green Mate- Argentina
Organic Rooibos- South Africa
