The Burnaby Task Force on Homelessness was established in January 2005 to address the needs of Burnaby people dealing with the issue of homelessness.
The Burnaby Task Force On Homelessness is comprised of representatives from:
government agencies, the health authority, community organizations, businesses,
faith communities and concerned citizens who have come together to identify and address issues of
homelessness in the City of Burnaby.
The primary areas of focus are:
Community Awareness and Support
Adequate community support services for vulnerable populations
Develop a broad continuum of housing
Adequate, stable income sources that ensure basic necessities of life
Community Capacity Building
The Burnaby Task Force On Homelessness is committed to working with
all levels of government, social service agencies, business and faith communities and concerned citizens
to ensure the provision of housing, support services, and health care to people who are dealing with
homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Burnaby.
